The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But The Truth

“You are entitled to your own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.” Most of us know that saying but not who actually said it. A lifelong Democrat who died in 2003, Daniel Patrick Moynihan was well-respected four-term U.S. Senator from New York.

But, earlier in his career while serving as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and to India, he served under four Presidents – Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford. When we hear a news report these days, how can we be sure it’s 100% factual? That’s pretty hard in a world where almost all media are corporate-owned.

That’s why independent Democracy Now is such an important fact-finder about so many different topics, including Election 2012.
